Karimunjawa 1st Workcamp (part 4)

11th July 2009

Today was start earlier, eventhough not a schedule in this workcamp, few people was go to

the market, they are me,leslie,sophie,celia,marie,zoe. we buy 2 pineapple, 2 tape, few cakes.

after that, we go to the port and sit there and ate that cakes we buy. not for so long time,

we go back to house and take sleep again. before i sleep, pak arif takes me to the beach where

we will clean today.

i woke up again about 8.45 am and take breakfast with others where all the girls already on the dining

table, not so long and gintas woke up too, so the last person who woke up was feri, he slept for almost

9 hours! fiuhh…maybe he was very tired.

cleaning the beach! we try to take all the garbage and trash, for first 30 minutes or less,

everyone so excited, but later on we realize that this kind of activity not really help this island,

and then until 12.00 we were changing our mind, between feel powerless,frsutated,useless,

crazy, or just try to avoid that mind and keep cleaning all the time. we got help from marie with

her gloves and zoe with 2 cleaning tools from our homestay.

after cleaning, we all went back home and take our lunch, evethough actually we plan to eat

it when we’re on the beach, but since everyone already starving to death, so we just eat the

lunch from the lunch box on the table…LOL Finished our lunch, we went to the beach.

the first beach we went is not very good, many trash (organic) there, so we move to anoher

beach which is located in front of SD Karimunjawa 7 but 15-20 minutes walked from the school.

we arrived there, and all people start tosay anything, “this is paradise”, “beautiful”,etc.

yeph!the beach very beautiful, with the coral,fish,deadshell,and sun, and everything

it have there. we swim, snorkle,sun bath,find deadshell,etc. thats why many of us get sunburn.

at 5 pm we went back to place where the car down us, and actually the driver already wait there.

after cleaning everything, because our dinner will be late, some of us went to the souvenir

shop to buy something. the dinner was quite because we all were very hungry. next, we have

discussion for preparation to visit the school, for introduce, games, etc. tehre was a germany

guy and girl that give not polite comment for what we did and discuss. because gintas is the

only one who understood what the man says, so slow but sure he become angry with these

man, but the girl was try to explain what their opinion, but still gintas have not good mood

with these people.

and for this day evaluation, most of us are feel not good for the cleaning but feel very happy

for the beach. so, Indonesia have so much thing that good and awesome but the people

are have not enough education to realize it, and i think me as an Indonesian will try to fix

all of this from inside, with so much help from outside esspecially my group of workcamp…=)
